The Jacksonville Hellcats topped the Temple Goers, 5-2, in Alexander Cartwright League action at Goers Field. The player of the game was Jacksonville pitcher and Montclair, California native Josh Richard. Richard went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 6-17. Kawanari Uchida earned the save, his 9th, for the Hellcats.
Germano Lamorr contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat that helped Jacksonville get the win.
Lamorr said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
The Hellcats go to 48-67, putting them 6th in the Alexander Cartwright League Pirate Parrot League.
