Berserkers Stumble, Lose to Gamblers
|
The Las Vegas Gamblers defeated the Minnesota Berserkers, 8-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard . Chris Magee received player of the game honors. The 9-year veteran went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Las Vegas, now 2-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
In the bottom of the 6th, first baseman Dante Deleón gave Las Vegas the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Gamblers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Minnesota pitcher Elias Bowen changed that -- and Las Vegas went on to win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Magee said.
