Great Day for Mailman in Black Knights Win
The Killeen Black Knights topped the Newark Jail Birds by the score of 14-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Tom Mailman. Mailman went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Black Knights on the day. Xiong Yang, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 6 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 1-1. Harrison Dabbs earned the save, his 5th.

Mike Farquharson brought the hometown crowd to its feet with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when the 21-year old third baseman belted a grand slam home run. With the round-tripper, the Black Knights took the lead, 7-3.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Mailman said.

Even with the win, the Black Knights have a dismal 32-81 record.
