The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats defeated the Silicon Valley Hackers, 6-3, at Bloomfield Road. Buzzard's Bay left fielder Yasunari Sato was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Buzzard's Bay reliever Bert Bleazard picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Ding-bong Fong took the loss. Hidekazu Komatsu, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 27th save.

Sato had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a solo home run. The Beetlecats went on to win.

"It feels good to get that win," said Sato. "Now it's on to the next one."
