Hackers Stymie West Coast, Take 3-1 Win
|
Silicon Valley Hackers starter Mokichi Nishiyama was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the West Coast Defenders, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Nishiyama, now 7-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. Kirk Redman got the save, his 12th in 13 chances.
Takafumi Ueno was a key contributor to the win for the Hackers. In the bottom of the second with two out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to left. He was 1-3.
"Mokichi did a tremendous job," said Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller.
Silicon Valley is now riding a 3-game win streak.
