The Duke City Danger and Maple Marauders put on a pitchers' duel at Legends Park.
In a tight game between the Duke City Danger and the Maple Marauders, pitcher Ross Allan was terrific on the mound. The Duke City right-hander was named the player of the game in Duke City's 2-1 win. Allan, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk.
Runs were hard to come by in this one. Anthony Cadenhead's at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth, therefore, was critical. The Duke City second baseman hit a 2-run home run, to put his team on top, 2-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Duke City manager Jorge Morales.
At 14-20, Duke City is in 5th place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
