Hunter Lifts Shamrocks to 9-5 Triumph
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks trumped the Newark Jail Birds, 9-5, at McCormick Field. Pacifica second baseman Nick Hunter was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Carlos Martínez earned the save, his 1st. The Shamrocks have an impressive 61-36 record.
Hunter had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Shamrocks went on to win.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Hunter told the Pacifica Daily News.
