Beavers Fall Short, 8-7, at Minnesota
|
Minnesota third baseman Jim Burry made his presence felt in the 8-7 Berserkers triumph over the Portland Beavers. Burry went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kitahachi Gato picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Reggie Dunlop was tagged with the loss. The save went to Ti-an Dan, his 4th this season.
Minnesota took a 8-7 lead on Burry's 34th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which he hit off Reggie Dunlop in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Minnesota to the win.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Burry.
Minnesota has a record of 13-19.
