Stogies Fall to .500 After Loss to Mustangs
|
Benefiting from Ted Burbidge's productive game, the Mile High Mustangs downed the Havana Stogies, 8-4. Burbidge was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Mustangs. Drstasara Sahni, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 2-4. The win brings the Mustangs to 12-20, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Burbidge contributed when he hit a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth. Coming with one out and the bases loaded, the home run proved to be critical to helping Mile High get the win.
"It's a long season," said Burbidge. "We'll keep working to improve."
