Bloomington Blazers starter John Leaver was in fine form against the So Cal Republic at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park, leading his team to a 5-2 win. Austin Price earned the save for Bloomington, his 8th of the year. The Blazers now own a record of 14-19.
With no one out in the bottom of the fifth, Armando De Jesús barreled up a fastball from Adhipa Vemireddy. The result was a solo home run, putting the Blazers in front, 4-2.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Leaver.
