The Seattle Sasquatch got a superb performance from pitcher Koryusai Uchida, who shut out the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 2-0. Uchida went 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-4. Coco Yamashita finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Francisco Valdéz provided some late-game heroics for Seattle. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a 2-run single. It came on a 2-0 sinker from Phoenix Smith and propelled Seattle to a 2-0 lead.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Uchida.

The win brings the Sasquatch to 11-20, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
