Lake of the Isles Hot Streak Continues with 4-2 Win
|
The Lake of the Isles Wolves got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Julien Martin, but it was good enough for the club to take a 4-2 decision over the Wisconsin Dells Ducks. In 6 innings, Martin surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Bill Lacy nailed down his 13th save.
The Wolves beat the Ducks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Harold Wilsdon produced in the bottom of the fourth. Batting against Wisconsin Dells pitcher Tasuku Mori, Wilsdon gave his team a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Lake of the Isles manager Brad Johnson.
The Wolves, now 36-46, have won 8 in a row.
