Marauders Topple Danger as Leeder Shines
|
In a high-scoring contest between Maple and Duke City, second baseman Gerard Leeder was a difference-maker. Leeder, who leads the TML in RBI with 27, earned player of the game honors in the 11-8 Maple win. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6. The winner was Héctor Zúñiga in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Emerson Webber took the loss. Earning his 7th save of the year was Adrien Clément.
One significant plate appearance for Maple came with one out in the bottom of the third inning. Marauders center fielder Goldi Lebel hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Maple go on to win.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Leeder. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
The Danger fall to 13-20 and continue their lackluster start to the 2028 season.
