The Silicon Valley Hackers buried the Newark Jail Birds, 13-2, under a barrage of hits. Javier Cháves led the onslaught, going 2-for-3 for Silicon Valley. Newark is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the first inning, when the Hackers were trailing 1-0. Rhys Wallace delivered a two-out 2-run single for Silicon Valley, catapulting his team into the lead.
"That game had disaster written all over it," said Newark skipper António Gómez. "I could feel it."
