Paul Leads Charge, Riverside Blasts Trojans
|
The Riverside Red Bulls got production from their entire lineup in an easy 14-3 win over the Sioux Falls Trojans. Player of the game honors went to right fielder Ken Paul. Paul went 3-5 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3. Filipe Castanheta picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Alain Picard was tagged with the loss. The Trojans, now 37-43, have lost 5 in a row.
Tatsuzo Suzuki didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to put Riverside on top, 1-0.
"We maximized our offense today," said Riverside skipper Joe Ward. "That makes everyone's life easier."
