Kanda goes 4-for-4 in Beetlecats Win
|
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats beat the Frisco Rams, 9-5, at Outlander Park. The Beetlecats got a fine performance from second baseman Yoshihisa Kanda, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Arata Shimizu earned the win to go to 5-2. He allowed 4 earned runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. Javier Hernández picked up the save, his 3rd.
Also making an impact was third baseman Tsuneyo Nakagawa, who drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning for the Beetlecats. For the game, Nakagawa went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Buzzard's Bay skipper Roberto Núñez. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
Buzzard's Bay goes to 52-28, Frisco to 45-36.
