The West Coast Defenders downed the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 7-4, at Bloomfield Road. Shu-yaan Tian led the way, going 2-for-4 for West Coast. West Coast reliever Kyuso Hagi picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. José Barrachina was collared with the loss. With the win, the Defenders have a record of 35-42.
Tian had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth, when he hit a grand slam. The Defenders went on to win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Tian.
