Wolves Come Up Short at Temple
|
The Lake of the Isles Wolves and Temple Goers provided some drama at Goers Field.
Getting an impressive start from Monty Burns, Temple beat Lake of the Isles by the score of 3-2. Burns got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Burns allowed 1 earned run.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, shortstop Jacquy Renard came through big-time for the Goers. With Temple leading 2-1, he belted a solo home run.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Burns told the Temple News.
With the win over Lake of the Isles, the Goers improved to 36-37.
