In a low-scoring game between Newark and Killeen, pitcher Mario Robles was excellent. The Newark right-hander was named the player of the game in Newark's 2-1 win. Munemori Abe got credit for the save for Newark. It was his 8th of the year. At 21-53, the Jail Birds find themselves in last place in the Alexander Cartwright League Bernie Brewer Division.
Dan Dionne contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that helped send Newark to the win.
