The Brooklyn Black Knights got a magnificent performance from pitcher Wilson Deleón, who stifled the Kansas City offense en route to a 3-1 Black Knights win at Blue Ivy Stadium. Deleón picked up the win for Brooklyn, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The save went to Jack Beard, his 1st this season.
Brooklyn second baseman Carlos Campos contributed to the cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. For the game, Campos went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Brooklyn Black Knights manager Diego Aguirre.
The Tornadoes, now 16-17, continue their sluggish start.
