Blazers Subdue So Cal, 3-2
|
Bloomington Blazers starter Lou Latulippe turned in a sterling performance against the So Cal Republic, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Latulippe picked up the win for Bloomington, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. The save went to Austin Price, his 7th this season.
Also pitching in was Bloomington third baseman Hidekazu Takeuchi, who hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Takeuchi was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Takeuchi said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Losses have been rare for the Republic, who are now 23-8.
