Narrow Win Takes Silicon Valley Streak to 10
|
Silicon Valley overcame a superlative game from Bryan Billings to beat Frisco, 2-1. The Frisco pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 1-hit ball. The winner was Silicon Valley reliever Kichibei Kobayashi, now 2-1. The loser was Pepe Amiera. The third-place Hackers have won 10 in a row.
Reece Wager found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Frisco hurler Pepe Amiera, the 21-year-old catcher hit a sacrifice fly. His 40th RBI of the season put the Hackers on top, 2-1.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Wager.
