Buzzard's Bay beat Killeen at The Bird Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Arata Shimizu, who earned player of the game honors. Acanda Choudhary recorded his 2nd save for Buzzard's Bay. The second-place Beetlecats have won 5 consecutive games.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Alistair Grove hit a 0-1 curveball from Callum Butler for a 2-run home run. It put Buzzard's Bay in front, 6-5.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Grove, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
