Yamasaki Excels in South Carolina Win
Benefiting from the performance of Kiyonobu Yamasaki, the South Carolina Bombers defeated the San Diego Hops, 9-6. Yamasaki went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Bombers. South Carolina reliever Ange Schmit picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. James Thompson shouldered the loss. The Hops, at 10-21, have stumbled out of the gate.

Yamasaki's nice game included a clutch 2-run home run in the bottom of the first.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Yamasaki said. "That's how it goes."
