Jail Birds Lose Again, 9-6
|
The Newark Jail Birds got a superb performance from designated hitter Lewis Hoskins, but the Pacifica Shamrocks still won the game, 9-6. Hoskins was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Saiyid Mashwanis picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 7-1. Pacifica now has a 4-game win streak.
Brandon Wooddisse aided the Pacifica cause with a 2-run single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-1. He drove in 2 runs.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Wooddisse.
