The West Coast Defenders topped the Lake of the Isles Wolves, 2-1, in Alexander Cartwright League action at North Shore Park. The player of the game was West Coast pitcher William Kramer. West Coast reliever Tao Ru picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Serge Dupré was saddled with the loss. With the win, West Coast goes to 28-32, while the Wolves fall to 24-35.
Tommaso Fiori was the walk-off hero for West Coast. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the West Coast left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was a solid team effort," said Kramer after the game.
