Oshima Lifts Defenders to 10-8 Win
|
In a high-scoring game between West Coast and Killeen, center fielder Yoshiaga Oshima was a difference-maker. The 24-year-old earned player of the game honors in the 10-8 West Coast win. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. The Defenders improve their record to 26-29 with the win over Killeen.
Oshima had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch cutter from Chang-wei Zhou, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Defenders a 10-8 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Oshima.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Oshima, "but we got it done."
