The New York Mafia knocked off the Eureka Hornets, 7-3. New York starter Bob Ruíz pitched well enough to earn top player honors. The win moves New York to a record of 18-13.

The Mafia grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third. With one out, Jorge Mora, who is a eight-time All-Star, hit a 2-run home run off Ilpo Vuorinen, putting New York in front, 2-1. For Mora, it was his 5th home run of the season.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Mora.
