Sioux Falls right fielder Sakutaro Okada was sensational. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Pacifica beat the Trojans, 5-2. Okada was named the player of the game despite the loss. Pacifica reliever Pat Bertram picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-1. Bill Swilley was collared with the loss. Paul Calamy earned the save, his 14th, for the Shamrocks.

Doing his part for Pacifica was designated hitter Ron Colbert, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Colbert was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Colbert attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
