The Minnesota Berserkers defeated the Portland Beavers, 11-4. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Jim Burry, who went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win lifts Minnesota to a record of 12-18.
Burry came through with some timely hitting for Minnesota. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth and no one down, Burry hit a 2-2 splitter for a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season made it 5-3, Minnesota.
"I felt good up there," said Burry. "I saw the ball well."
