Mustangs Get One-Run Win at Quebec
|
Quebec catcher Tyan-yu Yang pounded Mile High Mustangs pitchers at Lucky 7 Ballpark, but it was not enough to keep the Armada from falling, 8-7. Yang was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Mile High starter Max Grant was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Aaron Taylor closed the game out for Mile High, earning his 6th save.
Jen-djieh Chen chipped in for Mile High, stroking a crucial 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Chen.
The win brings the Mustangs to 11-18, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
