Tornadoes Deal Beavers Painful Loss
The Kansas City Tornadoes electrified the home crowd at Debris Field with a walk-off win.

In a tight contest at Debris Field, the Kansas City Tornadoes edged the Portland Beavers by the score of 12-11. Kansas City first baseman Akio Toyoda, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The winner was Michael Burton in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Reggie Dunlop took the loss.

In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 11-11, third baseman George Bowman won it for Kansas City. With a runner on 2nd, Bowman hit a 1-2 fastball from Reggie Dunlop for a run-scoring double, giving his team a 12-11 win.

"What a game," said Bowman. "We needed every last run."

The Tornadoes raised their record to 15-16.
