The Killeen Black Knights got a strong performance from pitcher Donald Mason, who stymied the Sioux Falls offense en route to a 4-1 win at Trojans Park. Mason, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Umarah Abdul-Quddus was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when pinch hitter Robert Gibson hit a run-scoring single. The Black Knights went on to win.
"We put together a nice win," Mason said.
The Black Knights improve their record to 12-32 with the win over Sioux Falls.
