Earthquakes Win in Extras
|
The Jacksonville Jacks got a sterling performance from pitcher Will Caron, but the Earthquakes still prevailed, 5-3. Caron was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings allowing 3 runs. The winner was San Francisco reliever Kalyanavarman Nagaraj, now 5-0. The loser was Hariz Sahir. Jonathan Martin picked up the save for San Francisco, his 10th of the year.
Leslie Whitney made it 5-3 in favor of San Francisco when he delivered a 2-run double. It came with one out in the top of the tenth. The Earthquakes went on to win.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Jacksonville manager Chris Schell.
The Earthquakes, now 21-9, have been on fire in the early going.
