Varsha Goes Off, But Ducks Win
|
Wisconsin Dells withstood an impressive performance by Killeen first baseman Nataraj Varsha to defeat the Black Knights, 5-4, at The Bird Stadium. Varsha slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Tim Stady Jr. picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-3. He struck out 5 in 8 innings. The Ducks raised their record to 27-14.
With no one out in the top of the first, Cipriano Rojas lit into a slider from Quincy Moss for a 2-run home run. That made the score 2-0 in favor of the Ducks. For the day, Rojas was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Rojas. "But I like how we're playing right now."
