Defenders Beat Beetlecats, 7-5
|
West Coast withstood an impressive performance by Buzzard's Bay shortstop Ichiyo Yano to defeat the Beetlecats, 7-5, at North Shore Park. Yano went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. With the win, West Coast goes to 19-18, while the Beetlecats fall to 24-12.
Hirofumi Rin, who is tied for 7th in the ACL in RBI with 29, aided the West Coast cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rin.
