Both teams had their chances, but the Atlantic City Enforcers eventually prevailed at Parliament Field.
In a low-scoring clash between Atlantic City and Killeen, pitcher Alan Simpson was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Atlantic City in the 3-2 win. Atlantic City reliever Ralph Whitehead picked up the win to move to 1-0. Roger Hood suffered the loss. Máximo Larreta earned the save, his 3rd, for the Enforcers.
Atlantic City took a 3-2 lead on Medhi Lemaire's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Killeen pitcher Roger Hood in the bottom of the seventh.
After the game, Atlantic City manager Warren Barnes applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Even with the win, the Enforcers have a dismal 10-27 record.
