Red Bulls Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The first-place Riverside Red Bulls picked up another win at Red Bull Stadium.
The Riverside Red Bulls topped the Silicon Valley Hackers by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Shumei Fujimoto. Fujimoto went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Red Bulls on the day. Getting the save was Ahilocana Keyush, his 8th.
In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Fujimoto's contribution. The Riverside pinch hitter is a relative newcomer. With one out in the bottom of the seventh, when the Red Bulls had runners on 1st and 2nd, Fujimoto delivered a crucial 3-run home run.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Fujimoto. "But I like how we're playing right now."
Riverside, at 24-7, has sizzled in the early going.
