Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Goers
|
Temple overcame a superlative game from John Spracklin to beat Killeen, 4-3. The Killeen pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win was credited to Hervé Lacombe in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Chang-wei Zhou took the loss. Killeen, at 6-27, is off to a poor start in 2028.
Temple took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, first baseman Jim Unknown hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"This losing is getting old," said Killeen manager Chase Burke.
