Ducks Knock Off Temple at The Pond
|
Despite a great performance by Temple shortstop Ieyoshi Kawakami, the Wisconsin Dells Ducks defeated the Goers by the score of 6-4 at The Pond. Kawakami was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Tim Stady Jr., the winner, improved to 3-3. He held the Goers to 1 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Picking up the save was Nick Nielsen, his 2nd.
Wisconsin Dells first baseman Allen Baker contributed to the cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Baker went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Baker called the triumph "a good team win."
The Goers fall to 11-16 and continue to sputter in the early going.
