Behind a solid performance from catcher Yen-nien Sun, the Frisco Rams defeated the Jacksonville Hellcats, 4-3. Sun went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Rams. William MacDougal got credit for the save for Frisco. It was his 3rd of the year. The Hellcats fall to 9-18 and continue their lackluster start in 2028.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Sadao Masuda came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Jacksonville pitcher Kawanari Uchida, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Frisco on top, 4-3.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Frisco manager Enrique Ramírez.
