Victory Over Defenders Takes Silicon Valley to 18-9
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers defeated the West Coast Defenders, 6-3, in Alexander Cartwright League action at San Jose Municipal Stadium, with Silicon Valley pitcher Samuel Keeble named player of the game. Keeble, the winner, moves to 4-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 4 walks. The Hackers, now 18-9, have been red hot.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the second inning. That's when second baseman Yodo Tashima hit a run-scoring single. The Hackers went on to win.
"We did a lot of things right," said Tashima.
