Shamrocks Fall Short, 4-3, at Atlantic City
|
Long Chau did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Pacifica Shamrocks from losing, 4-3, to the Atlantic City Enforcers at Parliament Field. Chau went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The save went to Máximo Larreta, his 2nd this season. The Enforcers, with only their 5th win in 24 games, could be the worst team in the league.
Vicente Vargas broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Enforcers in front, 4-3. For the game, Vargas drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Pacifica manager Joe Leftwich said following the tough loss.
