Jail Birds Squelch Pacifica Offense in Shutout Win

Newark right-hander Dani López was in fine form, shutting out the Pacifica Shamrocks, 3-0. López picked up the win for Newark, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. The save was credited to Munemori Abe, his 5th.
A decisive at-bat came in the top of the second inning. With a runner on 1st, the batter, Francisco Sánchez, hit a run-scoring double. It made the score 1-0, Newark, and helped them go on to win.
"Good win for us," said Sánchez. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
