Victory Pushes Shamrocks Record to 12-5
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks thumped the Temple Goers, 8-2, at Goers Field. Brandon Wooddisse was a big reason his team got the win. Wooddisse was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Juan Ramírez, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held Temple to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Luis Miguel Toledo earned his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Wooddisse provided the big break for the Shamrocks in the top of the third inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run, helping Pacifica to get the win.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Pacifica skipper Joe Leftwich.
The hot start continues for the defending champion Shamrocks, who took their 12th win in 17 this year.
