Temple Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Saiyid Mashwanis, who muffled the Temple offense en route to a tight 3-0 Shamrocks win at Goers Field. Mashwanis, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The Shamrocks, now 11-5, have been on a roll in the early going.
With one out in the top of the fifth, Marty Aston stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 24th hit of the season and put Pacifica in front, 1-0.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Jorge Morales.
