Goers Best Red Bulls in Pitching Duel
|
In a well-pitched game between the Temple Goers and the Riverside Red Bulls, pitcher Yo Watanabe was superb. The Temple left-hander was named the player of the game in Temple's 2-1 win. The loss drops Riverside to 5-6.
Trailing 1-0, Temple hopes soared in the bottom of the fourth inning when the 23-year old catcher Wayne Lewis lifted a 2-0 curveball into the stands for a 2-run home run. The round-tripper put the Goers up, 2-1.
"We did just enough to win," Watanabe said.
