Hot Start Continues for Shamrocks
|
Pacifica withstood an impressive performance by Riverside right fielder Ken Paul to defeat the Red Bulls, 5-4, at Red Bull Stadium. Paul went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bi`nh Trieu, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Riverside to 3 runs on 3 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The save went to Paul Calamy, his 1st this season.
In the top of the 7th, the Shamrocks grabbed the lead on a two-out double by Alastair Honniball. Pacifica at the time was trailing 3-2, but Honniball's 2-run double off Yosai Suzuki put his team in front.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Pacifica manager Joe Leftwich.
The Shamrocks, now 5-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
