The Temple Goers topped the West Coast Defenders, 6-3, with second baseman Wayne Lewis playing a big role. Lewis was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Goers in the win. Eddie Geldart got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. John Cosman got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Lewis. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Goers were trailing 3-2, Lewis delivered a two-out grand slam home run for Temple, giving his team the lead.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Lewis told the Temple News.
With the win, Temple pushes its record to 3-3.
