Hackers Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The Silicon Valley Hackers downed the Newark Jail Birds, 13-5, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Horiuchi Sugiyama led the way, going 3-for-4 for Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley reliever Vic Evans picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Nobukazu Nakamura was collared with the loss. The win gives Silicon Valley a record of 4-2.

Sugiyama contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped Silicon Valley get the win.

Sugiyama told the Silicon Valley Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
